Escalator Safety Roadshow 2025: Bringing Safety Awareness to Life

MESP successfully held the Escalator Safety Roadshow 2025 at United Square Mall from 24 to 25 August 2025, an event dedicated to promoting safe escalator practices among children and families.
The two-day event featured interactive learning zones, live demonstrations, and a virtual reality (VR) experience that immersed participants in real-life escalator scenarios. Through the VR simulation featuring Steppee, our safety mascot, children learned to identify safe and unsafe behaviours, such as standing within the yellow lines, holding the handrail, and keeping footwear and clothing clear of the skirt brushes.
MESP’s trainers and ITE student volunteers were on-site to share practical safety tips and maintenance insights, helping families better understand how escalators operate safely in public spaces.
The event drew an enthusiastic turnout and positive feedback from parents, partners, and mall visitors, reinforcing MESP’s commitment to raising public awareness and nurturing a safety-first mindset from a young age.
